About Urinary Incontinence

What is Urinary Incontinence?

Urinary Incontinence is an inability to hold your urine until you get to a toilet, causing leaking in your undergarments and even through your clothes. More than 25 million people in the United States - male and female, young and old – suffer from incontinence. It is important to remember, you are NOT alone.

There are many causes for this medical condition. Although common, it is never to be considered normal. There is a cure.

Women experience incontinence twice as often as men. Pregnancy and childbirth, menopause, and the shape of the female urinary tract all contribute to this difference. But both women and men can become incontinent from neurological injury, birth defects, strokes, multiple sclerosis, and physical problems associated with aging.
